Easiest Paint DIY Transformation: Moody Bathroom Before and After

Moody bathrooms are an easy transformation and give a very satisfying before and after.

A little bit of paint goes a long way!

Our upstairs bathroom is our main bathroom that will need to be fully renovated at some point because carpet in the bathroom?

YUCK.

Until we’re able to do the full renovation I just wanted to give it some life and settled on using my leftover paint from the guest bedroom accent wall.

Moody Bathrooms or Dark Bathrooms Are A Big Trend of 2022 & 2023

Paint is usually the least intimidating thing to me because it’s inexpensive, not permanent, but makes a huge impact!

This is especially helpful if you are living in a college dorm or any rental where a full renovation isn't quite possible!

Since we are in the first home that we own, we are so excited to start to renovate and paint!

Here’s the before of our bathroom. Super cold and lifeless to me not at all cozy.

What Do I Need?

I used the color “EVERGREEN”- by Behr and think it’s a lovely moody dark green.

I ordered this bathroom light that is GORGEOUS and heavy-duty to go over the bathroom sink.

I thought the gold and antique look would pop against the dark deep green, but once that is installed I will do an updated picture.

Our bathroom space after!

Much darker, but cozier feeling

I think I’m actually going to paint the ceiling as well since it almost looks unfinished without it so I’ll update if I do!

Not bad for just some paint, right? The dark bathroom gives it such a more cozy feel that we both love!

This transformation cost me $0 because I already had the paint. Who doesn't love budget-friendly DIY projects?

I’ll be adding the bathroom light and some other items as well so that it can tide us over until the full renovation.

Guess how often I ask Dallin if I can rip out the carpet?

Hint: OFTEN.

What Are Our Future Plans For Our 1880s Home?

Future plans involve ripping out that nasty carpet, the fiberglass shower, and the cracked shower door.

Then we’ll add a tub, tile, and I would love to do wooden planks or wallpaper on the ceiling.

We’ll see if I keep it moody or decide to brighten it up by then!

The fun thing is you can always change and I feel like I change my mind often because there isn’t just one style and styles change.

Thanks for following along!

xoxo
